The Sidecar is a classic drink made with cognac, orange liqueur, and lemon juice. Many recipes call for rimming the cocktail glass with sugar, but you don’t want to do that. It becomes a sticky mess. Add a splash of simple syrup instead.
Don’t skimp on the shaking with ice. The ice shards melt and open up the cognac.
For variations, try swapping out the cognac with Armagnac, Pisco, or Stravecchio.
